There are many software tools for burning an ordinary video file in various formats to a DVD disc, i.e. make a burn. This simple procedure still causes subconscious fear in beginners. In the meantime, burning your favorite movie to DVD is a snap.

Step 1
The first stupor is usually caused by a variety of types of DVD discs. Various DVD-R, DVD + R and other names make users wonder. Despite the fact that the DVD format was originally created for recording video data, even the middle letter was decoded as Video, over time its use expanded, and the letter began to be read as Versatile (multipurpose).
Step 2
Remember, for a disc to be readable on your DVD player, it must have a disc icon with large DVD letters on it. In addition, there are single discs - DVD-5 and double sided - DVD-9. As a rule, discs of the first type are used for recording, while the second type allows you to record a higher quality, however, it takes more time
Step 3
Before a video file can be burned to a disc, it must be converted to DVD format and its contents must be in a folder called VIDEO_TS. If you have already initially downloaded the video in this form, you can safely burn it to a disc using the programs Nero Burning, Ashampoo Studio, etc. At the same time, when choosing a project for burning (recording), specify this folder, and not one of its files.
Step 4
If your file is stored in a video format, for example, avi, mpeg, mkv, etc., then you first need to convert it. This can take anywhere from twenty minutes to a couple of hours, depending on the program and the speed of your computer.
Step 5
One of the most popular DVD-video creation software is VSO's ConvertXToDVD product. The program allows you to save projects, create an individual menu, add sound effects, select fragments, and automatically burn a disc after conversion.
Step 6
You can independently start burning through the menu item "Action" -> "Burn the finished project to disk". Select the desired folder by button, which is created by default in the "Documents" -> "ConvertXToDVD" -> -> VIDEO_TS directory.
Step 7
Another popular program is DVD Flick, which is free and works even on very weak computers. The only drawback of this program can be called an exclusively English-language interface.
Step 8
There are several other DVD-video recording software. These are free packages Free Studio, DVDStyler, which have a wide range of features. And paid ones, for example, DVD Maker Platinum, which has advanced features such as content compression, which is performed by the DVD Fit utility without significant loss of quality so that the data of a dual-layer disc fits on a standard DVD. The advantage of this program is that a beginner can easily cope with it.
