PC users sometimes want to get the most out of their processor. Upon achieving the desired result, some systems cease to show stable results in operation, and the question arises of restoring the original position of the processor frequency. The easiest way to do this is to lower the frequency of the "stone" bus, which will also help to avoid overheating.

Instructions

Step 1

In order to lower the bus frequency, you will need special small programs, for example, SetFSB or AI Booster. The latter is completely free and you can easily find and download it on the Internet. With AI Booster, you can control your motherboard overclocking from Windows without changing BIOS settings. So, you need to install the program and then restart your computer. The software will start automatically.

Step 2

Next, you need to open an additional panel to be able to manage the settings of the motherboard by clicking on the Display tuning panel icon. To be able to control the FSB of the motherboard, it is necessary to mark the item with the designation Tuning, under which the bus frequency is indicated at the moment. Nearby are the “+” and “-” icons, which, in fact, regulate the bus frequency. By clicking on the minus, you can lower it.

Step 3

After installing the necessary data, be sure to click Apply, then in the dialog box that appears, confirm your consent to reboot the system. The computer will boot up again with the new bus frequency parameters.

Step 4

On many motherboards, you can change the bus frequency in the BIOS settings. When booting the computer, press DEL, F2 (or other keys corresponding to the board model). In the BIOS, you need to find a section where the characteristics of the processor are indicated (it can be called differently, for example, CPU configuration, CPU Frequency, CPU Clock). Here you need to decrease the value of the FSB parameter. Now save your settings and restart your computer. That's it - the system will boot with new parameters.
