One way to overclock a computer's processor is to increase the bus frequency. But before using this method, you need to find out the base frequency of the bus and, based on this indicator, determine whether it is worth overclocking in this way. After all, if it is too high, then it can lead to overheating of the processor.

Step 1
To determine the bus frequency, you need to use special programs. One of the fairly simple utilities CPUID CPU-Z, moreover, is absolutely free. Download it from the Internet and install it on your computer. Run the program.
Step 2
Once launched, select the CPU tab. In the window that appears, you can see basic information about your processor. There is a Clocks section at the bottom left of the window. In this section, you need to find the Bus Speed line. The value in this line is the bus frequency.
Step 3
Another program with which you can find out the bus frequency is called AIDA64 Extreme Edition. Unlike CPUID CPU-Z, this program will be able to show the current bus frequency and the allowable limits for its increase. The app is paid, but there is a free trial period of one month. Download the program from the Internet, install it on your computer and run it. AIDA64 Extreme Edition will start scanning your system. After completing it, you will be taken to the main menu.
Step 4
There will be a list of devices in the right window of the main menu. Select "System Board" from this list. In the next window, also select "Motherboard". A window will appear with information about the configuration of your motherboard. The information will be divided into several sections. Find the section "FSB bus properties", in it - the line "Real frequency". The value in this line will be the bus frequency.
Step 5
You can also use the AI Booster program to determine the frequency. Install it, restart your computer, after which the program will start automatically, as it is built into autorun. In the application menu, click on the Display tuning panel icon. This will open an additional panel. Then select Tuning. Below this item, you can see the bus frequency.
