After sending a document for printing, you may encounter a problem: the paper is jammed in the printer. In this situation, further printing becomes impossible, and the jammed sheet must be removed.
Instructions
Step 1
To make such situations occur less often, follow the rules for operating the equipment. Do not use paper not designed for printers, and do not place wrinkled or curled paper in the tray. Check to see if the pages are stapled together with a paper clip or staple staple. Before loading the tray, make sure the sheets in the stack are not glued together. Separate them if necessary.
Step 2
If the page is still jammed in the printer, turn off the product and remove any paper from the tray. First try to remove the sheet by gently pulling on the edge that protrudes more from the printer. The force applied to the sheet must be evenly distributed, so grasp the sheet with both hands.
Step 3
Hold the sheet by the right and left edges at the same time so as not to accidentally tear off a piece of the page. A torn sheet is more difficult to pull out, and some shreds can get stuck in inaccessible places. Do not pull too hard, if you feel that the paper might tear, change the position of your hands. Grasp the sheet closer to the part that protrudes from the printer.
Step 4
When the jammed paper is not visible, open the printer housing. Find a special button on the casing or flip open the cover. Remove the cartridge if necessary. Try to remove the jammed sheet in the same way as described above.
Step 5
Do not touch the fuser (the part with the warning sticker) or the parts around it. Try not to use any tools and devices that can spoil the parts of the printer - a stationery knife, scissors, and the like. After removing the sheet, reinstall the cartridge, return the paper to the tray, and turn on the printer.
Step 6
If the sheet is torn or it is impossible to get it by any of the listed methods, do not try to disassemble the equipment yourself unless you have special skills. Contact the service center and report the problem.
