Step 1
On a personal computer, the input language can be switched in two ways: through the computer interface, and also by synchronously pressing certain keys. To switch the input language via the PC interface, turn your attention to the right side of the taskbar. Next to the clock icon, you will see the abbreviation "RU", or "EN" (which displays the current keyboard layout), or an icon with the display of the Russian or American flag. Click on this icon with the left mouse button and select the layout you need. By clicking the left button, you can configure hotkeys for quickly changing the layout.

Layout change - assignment of hot keys. By clicking on the language bar with the right mouse button, select the "Options" menu or "Settings" (on different versions of Windows, the section may be called differently). In the settings, select the item "Change keyboard shortcut" and set the parameters you need. The choice is small - you can set the key combination "Shift" + "Alt" or "Shift" + "Ctrl" as an operative change of the input language.
Step 3
Change the input language using hot keys. If you have not previously specified such parameters, according to the standard, the layout change will be carried out by synchronously pressing "Shift" + "Alt". This function is quite useful for those who often use text editors in their work. For greater comfort of users, to date, programs have also been developed that allow you to change the layout in automatic mode. The most common program is the Punto Switcher utility.
