Step 1
Select for installation in the system any specialized program designed to collect information and control the operating modes of computer hardware. The operating system also has built-in components that can provide information about the configuration, but each of these utilities has a rather narrow specialization - you will have to launch and view a considerable number of system applications, and then bring together all the collected information. Specialized application programs will do this for you, supplementing the collected information with data from your own measurements of the parameters of computer components.
Step 2
Download and install, for example, the Aida app (https://aida64.com). Earlier versions of this program gained a very wide popularity under the name Everest, and today Aida is able to identify more than 120,000 devices installed in computers. After downloading, installing and launching the application, you will see a simple interface similar to the standard Windows Explorer window. However, in the left frame, instead of folders, there are drop-down sections of the program menu.
Step 3
Select the "Motherboard" section in the menu and click the subsection with the same name. The right frame of this information page contains the full name of the motherboard, its identification number, information about the bus type, optimal and actually used frequency, board dimensions, built-in devices, expansion slots, etc. In addition, links to the download pages for drivers and BIOS updates for this board, as well as to the technical support and download pages of the manufacturer's updates are also provided here.
Step 4
In the same way, you can get similar information in other sections of the application menu regarding the video cards installed in the computer, network devices, hard drives, other storage and reading devices, connected external peripheral equipment, etc.
