Often, to answer the question about the bit depth, it is enough to use the documentation of the manufacturer or seller of the computer. It most often contains a specification of components or, at worst, the name of the processor model. And knowing who the manufacturer and the brand of the model are, you can easily find all the information. To do this, go to the website of the processor manufacturer. Each such site for quick search has an input field with the name "Find" or "Search". Enter your processor brand name in this field and press Enter. From the list of suggested links, select the link to the specification of your model and find information about the bit depth among other characteristics.
Step 2
If there are no documents or there is no opportunity and time to look for an answer on the network, then you can use the built-in utility winmsd.exe, which displays complete information about the system on the monitor. To do this, press Win + R and enter the command winmsd in the "Open" input field. In the System Information window, in the details pane, the Type and Processor items contain information about the bit depth. The value "x86-based computer" means that your computer is 32-bit.

There are many third-party utilities that can provide information about the bit depth. For example, Everest, CrystalCPUID, CPU-Z will help you get complete information about all the components of your computer. Run the utility (a shortcut is created on the desktop during installation). On the CPU tab, find the Instructions line. It contains information about the processor's support for 32 or 64-bit instructions, that is, about its bit capacity. If one of the values is EM64T or x86-64, then the computer's bit depth is 64 bits.
