The most popular office applications are MS Word and MS Excel from the MS Office package. And it often happens that you need to create a document in these applications, enter (or change) the necessary data into it and save, as well as create the necessary graphs and diagrams, and carry out calculations. All of this can be done in a variety of ways.

Windows computer, MS Office, ABBYY Finereader

Instructions

Step 1

If you want to create a new document, there are several ways to do this. In the first option, open MS Word or MS Excel and click "File-> New-> New Document". A blank MS Word / Excel document will open. You can also click the blank sheet of paper icon in the toolbar. This will create a blank document with default settings and name. Another, easier way is to click on an empty spot on the desktop and select New-> Word Document (or Microsoft Excel Sheet).

Step 2

You can generate an Office document using a text recognition program such as ABBYY Finereader. This program allows you to save scanned and recognized documents in Word (doc) and Excel (xls) formats. Another option for generating a document is converting it from other formats. There are special converter programs (in some cases they are built into the programs themselves) that allow you to convert the current document to the popular doc and xls formats. This way you can, for example, convert OpenOffice files, Acrobat Reader and others to Word or Excel formats.

Step 3

No matter how you create or form a Word / Excel document, in the future it can be filled with content or modified by editing with the keyboard and mouse. You may also need to insert pictures, diagrams, etc. All this can be done in MS Office programs using the main menu.

Step 4

After you finish working with the document, you must save it. To do this, you can use the main menu ("File-> Save" - saves the document with a default name, or "File-> Save as" - in this case, the document can be given an arbitrary name). You can also use the toolbar to save the document. To save the current document, just click the floppy disk icon.
