The user of a personal computer is faced with a variety of files every day. To view a text document, image, video, or listen to audio, you need to open it. And in order to protect yourself from the loss of information, for example, due to a sudden power outage, you should save the documents.
Instructions
Step 1
To open the document, right-click on the file name. Then click on the "Open" item and select the appropriate program from the drop-down list. Then double click on the document icon, after which the application will automatically start and the document will open. The file extension is used to create an associative link between the file and the program that created it. Thanks to this connection, the launch and opening of the application is carried out automatically.
Step 2
Opening a document can also be done through the menu system of the software if it is already running. To do this, go to the "File" tab in the menu bar and select "Open". Next, select the folder where the file is stored, as well as its name. Click on the "Open" button and the file will be opened.
Step 3
The "Save" command is executed through the software toolbar. To do this, go to the "File" tab in the menu bar and select the "Save" item. Click on the save icon on the toolbar, if such an icon exists. Select the Save As dialog box if this is the first time you are saving the document.
Step 4
To save the document, you must select the folder where the file will be located. Enter a unique file name and format (or use the default). Click on the "Save" button to write the object to disk.
