File sharing on the Internet is extremely popular today, and therefore there are many ways to simplify it. For example, the archive system, which allows several files to be combined into one, is much more convenient for transferring. A kind of archive is an.iso file, which is an image of a disk with information.
Instructions
Step 1
To mount a virtual disk, you need a virtual disk drive. To create such a special emulator program will help, the choice of which is quite wide. So for Windows XP one of the most famous programs is Daemon Tools, but its compatibility with Windows Vista / 7 leaves much to be desired. Therefore, for these systems, it is preferable to use Ultra ISO. If you want to be able to edit the contents of "compacts" in addition to emulation, then you should install Nero or Alcohol 120%.
Step 2
Check the official website of the program in order to find the newest version available. Using the latest updates will increase the stability of the program and its compatibility with a large number of formats (.iso is far from the only disk image file you may encounter). So, for example, newer versions of Daemon Tools require much less manipulation from the user compared to earlier versions of the program.
Step 3
After installation, go to the "My Computer" folder. A new disk drive should appear in it, which you will use in the future. By clicking on it with the right mouse button, you will see the menu item "mount to drive". By pressing the button, a file selection menu will open, through which you need to find the desired image and open it. After a few seconds, the "disc" will be "inserted" into the drive: then it can be used like any real medium.
Step 4
All.iso files will be "tied" to the emulator. Having found the file through the usual "explorer", you can open the disk with a double click and view its contents using the installed software. If the image is not recognized, then you should select the "Browse" item in the "Open with" menu that appears, find the working shortcut of the installed program and check the "Open all files of this type" checkbox.
