From time to time, any computer equipment can malfunction. The hard drive is no exception. For example, a situation when the RAW file system is assigned to the hard drive. Moreover, the user, of course, did not change the file system. Basically, this happens when there is a power outage, when it is not possible to turn off the computer in the usual way, or as a result of a virus infection of the computer.
Necessary
- - a computer with Windows OS;
- - Get Data Back program.
Instructions
Step 1
You cannot work with hard disks that have been assigned this file system. When you try to open such a partition of the hard drive, as a rule, a window appears with a notification about its formatting. Therefore, it is necessary to restore the normal file system. Only then will you gain access to the hard drive.
Step 2
You need to solve the problem based on the situation. If the RAW file system hard disk contains the information you need, you can try to recover it. Just try, because no one can guarantee that the information will be recovered.
Step 3
To recover, you need the Get Data Back program. Download it from the Internet and install it on your hard drive. You cannot install the program on a partition of a hard drive with a RAW file system.
Step 4
Run Get Data Back. In the program menu, select the hard disk partition to which the RAW file system is assigned. Then select the item "Information recovery". Please note that the data recovery process can be very lengthy.
Step 5
If you failed to recover data using the program, but there is information on the hard drive that is very important to you, then you can use the special services of service centers for recovering information from hard drives. Although in this case, you will not receive a 100% guarantee.
Step 6
If there is no important information on the hard drive partition, then it is much easier. When the formatting notification dialog appears, select the file system. To do this, click on the arrow next to the window, and then click the "Start" button. A window will appear informing you that all data will be deleted. Confirm formatting by clicking OK. After a few seconds, the hard disk partition will be formatted. After that, it should work fine. You may need to restart your computer.
