Line spacing in text files refers to the vertical distance between words. Many documents have to be saved taking into account the requirements that are also often imposed on this text formatting parameter. By default, it is set to single in documents.
Necessary

Instructions
Step 1
Open the document with Word.
Step 2
Select the part of the text to which you want to apply the change in spacing value. Be careful, because if the text contains large characters, certain mathematical operations, etc., the spacing between the lines changes independently.
Step 3
On the first tab of the toolbar, click on the icon with the image of text and two arrows pointing one up, the other down. Click on it, in the drop-down menu select the value you need. In the same place, you can add spacing before the paragraph or remove the space after it.
Step 4
If the value you need was not indicated in the drop-down menu, then click on the "Other line spacing options" item. There you can also specify such parameters as alignment and tabulation, text level, word wrap, paragraph markup and many others.
Step 5
If you need to apply a change in spacing to the entire text of the document, then press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + A, and then change the spacing. Save the results.
Step 6
If a certain spacing value needs to be applied to several unrelated passages of text, then select the first necessary words and phrases or paragraphs. Press and hold the Ctrl key while left-clicking the second part of the text to be similarly formatted. After that, without releasing the held down key, click on the icon for changing the interval. Save your changes.
Step 7
Keep in mind that you can also set the spacing to Multiplier mode, then it will increase or decrease towards the end of the document. If you often use some type of line spacing, you can make a template to save your time repeating the formatting procedure.
