A window handle, or Handle Window, is a specific identifier that is issued by the operating system to a window during its creation. If for some reason you need to know the system handle of a window (for example, when writing an application), you can do this using the HWND program.
Necessary
HWND program
Instructions
Step 1
Find this application through search engines on the Internet and download it to your computer. This program is a free application developed by the programmer Pavel Lesnikov. Before unpacking the archive with the program, check the downloaded data with antivirus software. Unpack the archive with the program. Run the utility by double clicking on the WHD.exe file. The program window has a simple interface: controls and a field for displaying descriptors. If you do not have an archiver, download a program called Win Rar from the Internet.
Step 2
Set the radio button to the "From window under cursor" position and press CapsLock on the keyboard. After this operation, the identifiers of all windows over which the mouse cursor passes will automatically appear in the descriptor output field. To disable this procedure, click on CapsLock again. Enter the window class whose handle you want to find out.
Step 3
Click on the "OK" button, and the required identifier will appear in the field below. To close the program window, click on the cross in the upper right corner. To contact the developer of the program, go to the site https://vokinsel.dviger.com. You can get real-time advice there, as well as find out about the availability of new software versions.
Step 4
This utility does not require installation and is very easy to use. The window identifiers obtained in this way can be further used in other applications to refer to windows of Windows services and windows of running programs. If you do not know how to use such programs, read the help. As a rule, developers describe the basic principles of working with programs.
