Kerio WinRoute Firewall is mainly designed to protect corporate networks from outside intrusion. To do this, the program has a mechanism for creating rules that the application must follow both when it receives requests from the outside and when programs on the protected network try to connect to any external servers. By using this rule, you can instruct the firewall to allow programs to use a specific port for network connections.

Instructions
Step 1
Open the Kerio WinRoute Firewall control panel. At the left edge of the main program window there is a list of sections and subsections - select the Traffic Policy subsection in the Configuration section. A list of existing rules will appear in the right pane.
Step 2
Click the Add button, placed under the list, and Kerio will display a window with a form in which you only need to specify the appearance of the rule line in the general list. In the Name field, enter the name of the rule, in the Color field - the background color of the table row, in the Description field - a description in case you forget what the rule was created for or if someone else is editing it. Then click the OK button.
Step 3
Click the newly created rule string in the Source column and the firewall will open the Edit Source dialog box. In the Add drop-down list, select the group for which you want to open the port - for example, Local or Any. The exact choice depends on what rules and with what names were created before. Click on the OK button.
Step 4
By clicking the same line in the Destination column, open a similar dialog box with the Edit Destination form. In the Add list of this form, select Firewall and click OK.
Step 5
Click the next cell in the row - it is located in the column named Service. In the window that opens, there will also be a drop-down list Add, but here only two items are placed in it - select Port. The next window will appear automatically. In it, you need to specify the number of the port to open in the field to the right of the TCP inscription and click OK. If you want to specify more than one port in this rule, repeat the action as many times as necessary.
Step 6
Click the next cell - Action. In the form that appears, the required Permit item is selected by default, so just click OK.
Step 7
Finally, click on the Applay button and close the Kerio WinRoute Firewall control panel window.
