The subtitle function is available in every modern Windows video player. Watching films and series with subtitles is very convenient for videos that do not have voice acting in Russian, as well as for learning other foreign languages.

Step 1
Make sure you have a codec program installed on your computer to play various media files. If not, download the DivX software or the K-Lite Codec Pack to your computer and install support for as many video and audio files as possible.

Open your video with Windows Media Player. In the menu, choose to download subtitles if they are located in a directory separate from the movie. Using the "Play" menu (in the English version), find the item "Subtitles" (Subtitles) and check it, after which the subtitles should automatically appear in the lower playback window. You can also customize their position on the screen using the playback configuration.

If this button is not highlighted in the menu, make sure that your file with your subtitles is not damaged or under-downloaded. Also try to open the video using the Media Player Calssic that comes with the K-lIte Codec Pack or using the DivX Player.

Also find out if this is related to the settings of your video card, because with a certain DirectX configuration, loading subtitles in the video is not available, but this happens extremely rarely if the user has changed the settings of this utility manually.
Step 5
If you cannot open the subtitles for the video, you do not have to download it again, just download the subtitle file separately. Many forums, for example, Konopoisk or Rutrecker, are full of links to the files you need, many of them contain even better translations than is the case with voice acting.
Step 6
Associate the downloaded subtitles with the video, it is best to place them after that in one folder and turn on its playback using the player. Also note that there are videos containing titles integrated into the recording file.
