However, fine-tuning the appearance of any interface element (for example, changing the color of the "My Computer" icon) cannot be done using standard tools. "Take a picture" of the desktop. To do this, minimize all windows and press the PrintScreen key on the keyboard. Launch Paint or Photoshop (any image editor will do) and paste the desktop picture from the clipboard onto a blank sheet.

Cut out the label you want to color change. To do this, use the selection tool, and then copy the selected part to the clipboard. Save the selection as a separate file with a standard extension (for example, jpg). Make the desired changes - for example, change the color of the monitor in the My Computer icon from blue to red. Install in the system drive of a personal computer, as such software must be installed where the operating system is located. Open the program and load the file with the desktop shortcut into it. Convert the picture into an icon using the Save as item.
