Instructions

Step 1

In Windows XP Service Pack 3 and higher operating systems, there is a function to write files to disk. Insert the media into the drive and wait for it to be detected in the "My Computer" folder. Drag and drop or copy the files you need to the disk. After that, on the left side of the window, you will see the "Burn files to disk" function. Click on it and follow the instructions on the screen. At the end of the process, the files will be burned to DVD.

Step 2

Use third-party software to burn discs. The most common is Nero Burn. Launch it and select at the top of the DVD window as the main type of recordable media. At the bottom of the window, hover over Favorites and select Create Data DVD. Next, the program will begin the process of determining the amount of free space on the DVD. After that, the application will proceed directly to the recording itself.

Step 3

Use one of the free programs to burn DVDs. A suitable option might be, for example, ImgBurn. The program takes up little space and, after downloading from the Internet, does not require installation. Run the application. In the Mode menu, go to the Build tab. Click in the "File Lists" window that opens and select the information you are interested in for burning a DVD. You can specify additional settings, for example, the order in which the recorded video files will be played, then select the folder to save the image by giving it a name.

Step 4

Check if the selected files will fit on the DVD. If the prepared data corresponds to the size of the disk, specify on the tabs of the window the parameters for saving, dates, names in Latin letters and click "Start". The application will create two image files with the *.msd extension. Load the created image into the program, insert the DVD into the drive and start the disc burning process.
