After downloading video from the camera to your computer, you may find that the soundtrack of the video consists of the noise of the wind and the clatter of the lens cover. If creating a clip with exactly this sound was not your task, you can replace all this extraneous noise with a more suitable track. To replace the sound in an avi file, video editing programs are suitable.
Necessary
- - Movie Maker program;
- - VirtualDub program;
- - video;
- - a file with sound.
Instructions
Step 1
You can change the audio track in the avi file in the simple Movie Maker video editor. Using the "Import Video" option, import the clip you are going to work with into the program. Use the Import Sound or Music option to load a new sound.
Step 2
Drag the avi file onto the pasteboard. Below the video track, you can see the original audio track. Select it and apply the "Disable" option of the "Audio" group of the "Clip" menu. The original audio has been removed from the video.
Step 3
To add a different soundtrack to the clip, drag the selected track to the timeline. Adjust the volume if necessary. The “Volume” option from the “Audio” group will help you open the knob of this parameter.
Step 4
If the loaded sound is too long, you can cut it. To do this, place the pointer of the current frame in the position from which the extra part of the sound begins, and apply the "Cut" option from the "Clip" menu. Select the cut fragment of the track and delete it by pressing the Delete key.
Step 5
Save the edited clip with the Save to Computer option.
Step 6
You can use VirtualDub to replace audio in avi. However, unlike Movie Maker, which allows you to work with mp3 files, to replace sound using VirtualDub, you need a pre-prepared track in wav format.
Step 7
Open the clip in an editor. If you are not going to change the video compression, enable the Direct stream copy option in the Video menu. Select the WAV Audio option of the Audio menu and select the audio file that you have prepared for insertion into the processed avi.
Step 8
By default, the attached audio will remain uncompressed, which will add a lot of weight to the saved video. In order to reduce the video size by compressing the audio track, enable the Full processing mode option in the Audio menu and open the list of available formats with the Compression option. Select a codec and audio compression settings.
Step 9
Save the clip with the Save as AVI option in the File menu.
