It often happens that a car enthusiast may not be satisfied with the factory dashboard: either it creaks, or is simply ugly. One way or another, it can be glued or replaced with a new one, but first you need to remove the old front panel.
Instructions
Step 1
It is best to replace the front panel in the garage so that the car is on a level surface and nothing bothers you. Cover the front seats with a cloth or any other material to keep them clean before removing the front panel.
Step 2
Remove the negative terminal from the battery to de-energize the on-board power supply system. After that, you can start disassembling the dashboard. Remove all decorative plugs first. Then remove all the cladding parts of the air ducts.
Step 3
Remove the steering wheel pad, then remove the steering wheel itself, as it will subsequently interfere with removing the panel itself. Remove the switches located on the steering column.
Step 4
Remove the claddings from the uprights. Also remove the plastic tunnel cover that covers the air ducts. Unscrew the screws securing it, then bend the plastic latches that hold the casing. Then remove it by gently pulling it towards you.
Step 5
Browse the book for repairing your car model. Here you will find an accurate description of the front panel mounting. In addition to visible screws, the panel is secured with plastic clips. In order not to damage them, you need to know exactly where they are. After all plastic fasteners have been removed, disconnect all wires connected to the front panel.
Step 6
Remove it carefully from the passenger compartment through the front passenger door. Sketch the wiring diagram of the electrical contacts so that nothing is confused when reinstalling.
