Trojan. Winlock is malware. Infecting the operating system, it displays a modal window of a certain size, usually not occupying the entire screen, after which it becomes difficult to work on the computer. To remove this program, you need to use antivirus software, but in the simple case, you can do it manually.
Instructions
Step 1
Having infected a computer, Trojan. Winlock displays a message on the screen with a proposal to transfer money to a specific account, after which the virus will be removed from the computer. In fact, the only way to get rid of this virus is to remove it completely. Like any other malicious code, Trojan. Winlock creates many files and entries in the system registry on the computer, so it is not so easy to completely remove it. If you miss one of the elements of this program, it can quickly recover.
Step 2
Delete the malicious process from the computer memory. To do this, start the "Task Manager", go to the "Processes" section, select the process to be deleted and click the "End Process" button. If you cannot delete a process using the standard task manager, try installing Process Explorer and uninstall the process using it.
Step 3
Launch the Registry Editor, to do this, open the "Start" menu and select "Run …". In the window that opens, type the regedit command and click the OK button. In the editor window, find and delete the following entries:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Explorer "CleanShutdown" = "0"
HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Microsoft / Windows NT / CurrentVersion / Winlogon "Shell" = "[current directory] / [TROJAN]"

Step 4
Now it remains to find all files named Trojan. Winlock, delete them. To do this, you can use the standard search engine of the operating system or any file manager.
Step 5
Removing Trojan. Winlock manually is often unsafe. By cleaning the computer registry, you can accidentally make incorrect changes to it, which ultimately lead to problems in the operation of the system as a whole. In order not to have problems with various viruses and trojans, use antivirus software.
