As a background on the desktop, you can put a picture from the collection that Windows OS offers, or any other image - a photo, drawing, a frame from a movie, etc. The main thing is that the background does not tire the eyes and does not cause latent irritation.
Instructions
Step 1
To make your favorite picture the desktop background in Windows XP, right-click on it and select "Set as Desktop Background" from the context menu. The image will be automatically stretched to fit the screen, so be careful: if the image is too small, the desktop picture will be fuzzy, blurry.
Step 2
If you want to select a background from the Windows gallery, right-click on an empty space on the desktop and select Properties from the context menu. In the "Desktop" tab in the "Wallpaper" section, mark the image you like.
Step 3
In the "Arrange" list, you can choose an action on an image that is too small: stretch, place in the center of the screen, or lay out several images in the form of tiles. Stretching a small drawing may compromise its quality. If you place a picture in the center, then in the "Color" list you can choose a frame color for it.
Step 4
From the same window, you can specify any image stored on your computer for the desktop. To do this, click "Browse" and specify the path to the desired picture in the address bar.
Step 5
In Windows 7, the wallpaper changes a little differently. Right-click on an empty space on the desktop and check the "Personalize" command. In the new window, click on the "Desktop background" link. In this version of Windows, the choice of images is much richer. Select the desired picture and click "Save Changes".
Step 6
You can set a slide show as the background. To do this, while holding down the Ctrl key, mark several pictures. In the "Change images every" list, select the time interval for changing images.
Step 7
Click Browse to select any image on your computer as the background. If the picture is too small, use the Image Position list box to optimally position the picture on the screen.
