The desktop should be organized in such a way as to provide the user with quick access to the necessary resources. But the design also plays an important role. The choice of wallpaper for your desktop must be approached not only creatively, but also logically.

Step 1
Determine your screen resolution. If you choose wallpapers that do not fit in proportions, they may be distorted during installation, and this does not look very attractive. Click anywhere on the desktop that is free of files and select Properties from the context menu. In the dialog box that opens, go to the Settings tab and remember what value is in the "Screen Resolution" group. When choosing wallpaper, compare the resolution in the description with the data that you received using the "Screen" component.
Step 2
Choose the wallpaper that you can look at for a long time. Pay attention to the color scheme and subject matter. A picture with a lot of small details or a picture that is too bright can be tiring, and a depressing theme can ruin the mood. The performance is reduced from this. It is also worth paying attention to the area of the image on which the shortcuts of programs and folders will be located - the icons should not be lost against the background of the wallpaper, otherwise you will be nervous every time looking for the desired icon. In the event that you achieve a completely harmonious look of the desktop, make sure that the image matches in color and with the taskbar.
Step 3
Experiment, the wallpaper on your desktop can be changed indefinitely. Sometimes the picture itself looks nice, but when you set it as a background, it feels like something is wrong. And this feeling should not be, otherwise it will be distracting every time you work at the computer. In order to install the photo wallpaper, call the "Display" component in the manner described in the first step. Alternatively, click the Start button, open Control Panel, and select the desired icon from the Appearance and Themes category.
Step 4
In the dialog box that opens, go to the "Desktop" tab and, using the "Browse" button, specify the path to the folder where your wallpaper is stored. If you chose the "Center" method for positioning the image, select the background color using the palette from the "Color" group. Click the Apply button for the new settings to take effect and close the Display dialog box.
