Desktop is the user interface that appears on the monitor after the Windows operating system is loaded. It displays the taskbar and program shortcuts. If necessary, the contents of the desktop can be saved as a graphic file and printed.

Instructions
Step 1
In order to print the contents of the desktop, create a screenshot of it. This can be done by pressing the PrtScr key. If you need to print not the entire desktop, but only the notification window that appears on it, use the Alt + PrtScr key combination. If all program windows are minimized at the moment of taking a screenshot on your computer, the Alt + PrtScr key combination will give you a screenshot of the taskbar.
Step 2
From the clipboard where the screenshot you took was saved, paste it into a new document in any image editing program, for example, in a document created in Paint. To create a new document, use the New option from the File menu or the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + N. The document created with the default parameters will have the linear dimensions of the screenshot saved to the clipboard.
Step 3
Paste the saved image into a new document using the "Paste" option from the "Edit" menu or the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V.
Step 4
Adjust the print settings for the image. This can be done using the hotkeys Ctrl + P or the "Print" option from the "File" menu. In the Photo Print Wizard window, select from the drop-down list the printer on which you are going to print a screenshot of the desktop. Click on the "Print Settings" button to select the paper orientation and print quality. Click on the "Next" button and select the number of prints per page.

Print a screenshot of your desktop by clicking the "Next" button in the Print Image Wizard window.
Step 6
If a printer is not connected to the computer, the screenshot of the desktop of which you want to print, you can save the screenshot to a jpeg file using the "Save" option from the "File" menu. The saved file can be opened and printed from any computer to which the printer is connected.
