Opening the monitor case should be done only in special cases and if you have the appropriate skills to work with the equipment. If certain malfunctions occur, it is best to immediately take it to a service center and not do repairs at home.

Necessary

  • - crosshead screwdriver;
  • - flat screwdriver;
  • - a plastic card or a non-sharp knife.

Instructions

Step 1

Find a description of your monitor model on the Internet or check for yourself if you have used glue to fasten the walls of the case. Prepare the work surface, taking into account that you will have to put the die on it when disassembling.

Step 2

Disconnect the monitor from the computer, the power source, remove all connected wires from its connectors and inspect its case, check for the presence of fasteners (in some models, they can be hidden by special plugs), they are usually located on the back of the device.

Step 3

Remove the mounting bolts and remove the monitor from the stand. If you have certain problems with the latter, read on the first pages of the user manual how to properly remove the monitor from the stand in your case (usually special latches are used, on which you need to push and pull the stand).

Step 4

Pry up the monitor case using a flat screwdriver or a mild knife. In case it is made of very dense plastic, do not use them, first try to remove the case cover with your hands.

Step 5

If your monitor model used glue to hold the cabinet parts together, use a wide, flat-blade screwdriver. Place it on the joint of the sides of the case, placing it in a vertical position. Lightly hit the top of the screwdriver handle until you hear a characteristic crackling sound. It is best not to use too much force here to open the monitor, as this can break the case and damage internal components.

Step 6

Next, pry the monitor case along the perimeter using a plastic card and open the back cover. For further disassembly of the monitor, if necessary, download a special service manual for your model and do not proceed to self-repair without it.
