Both the cooling efficiency of the components and the noise level depend on case coolers. All computer cases have room for fans, but they are often not used. How to make a competent selection of coolers to provide the necessary cooling?

Step 1
The size. Before buying, you need to open the case cover and take a look at the dimensions of the seats for coolers, and also calculate their probable number. Based on the size, you should make a choice. These can be case coolers with a diameter of 80 mm, 92 mm and 120 mm. Fans 80 mm and 92 mm are interchangeable, as the holes for their mounting are located at the same level. But it is preferable to choose low-speed coolers with a size of 120 mm, since they are much more efficient.
Step 2
Noise level. This characteristic depends on the rotational speed of the cooler: the higher the rotational speed, the better the cooling of the system unit. It is measured in decibels (dB) and is indicated by the manufacturer on the packaging. The noise level in the range of 21-30 dB is considered a normal indicator and provides a quiet robot, and in the region of 35 dB it is quite noisy and a reason to think about choosing any other model.
Step 3
Bearing type. This parameter affects the noise level, reliability and serviceability of the product. Plain bearings are considered to be the simplest solution. The cost of such coolers is low and the noise level is low, but the service life and the scope of the bearings are limited (they do not tolerate horizontal position and high temperatures). Ball bearings are louder and more durable. But the best option would be hydrodynamic bearings, which are ahead of the previous ones in terms of characteristics. Also exotic is on sale - bearings with mixed types. They are even more expensive than hydrodynamic bearings, which casts doubt on the appropriateness of the purchase.
Step 4
Fastening. The fan can be fastened to the case using metal screws in cheap models and rubber screws in more expensive ones. Moreover, the second type of fastening reduces the level of vibration and, accordingly, the noise from the cooler.
