Files are the main working object of modern computers. They store both programs dealing with different types of information processing, and the information itself. These objects are placed not only on the main media (hard drive), but also on removable disks, in other computers on the local network, etc. Sometimes this causes errors related to the loss of access to the storage location of the files. In addition to this nuisance, objects may be blocked by the OS security system. In all these cases, a message about the loss of access to files appears on the screen.

Step 1
If the file you want is located on another computer, when you receive a message that it is not available, the first thing to do is to make sure that you have a connection with this computer. It is not difficult to do this, for example, open the network folder in which the problem file is stored in "Explorer" and press the F5 button. This is a command to update information. The computer can think for a long time, i.e. the mouse pointer will "spin the wheel" of waiting for several tens of seconds, or it will immediately display a message about the unavailability of a network resource. Both of these signs will unambiguously indicate that there is no connection with the remote computer. To solve the problem, check the network connection and the computer itself that stores the desired file - it may turn out that it was simply turned off.
Step 2
An attempt to access files in the system folder can also lead to a message about their unavailability. This most often happens when the rights of the user account are insufficient for such an operation - for example, when you are trying to do something with objects of another, currently inactive OS. You can eliminate this obstacle by becoming the "owner" of the desired file (or better, the entire folder) by setting its properties. Start this procedure by calling the properties window for all folders - press the Win key, type "steam" and select the "Folder Options" link in the list of search results.
Step 3
In the list of "Advanced options" on the "View" tab, uncheck the line "Use Sharing Wizard" and click OK.
Step 4
Right-click the required folder in the "Explorer" window and select the "Properties" line from the context menu. On the Security tab of the Properties window, click the Advanced button to open another set of settings tabs in a separate window.
Step 5
On the "Owner" tab, click the "Change" button and the next, last settings window will open. In the "Change owner to" list, select your account and check the box next to the "Change owner of subcontainers and objects" message.
Step 6
Click the OK buttons on all three open settings windows. After that, access to the files in the system folder must be restored by the OS.
