When processing video, one has to deal with clips shot with a camera rotated ninety degrees. If the other fragments from which the film is edited were shot in the usual mode and the vertical orientation of a part of the footage is not a special artistic technique, you can transform the clips made with the unfolded camera. There are special programs for this task, in addition, almost every video editor has a tool for image rotation.

Instructions
Step 1
If all you have to do with the video is to rotate the picture at right angles, use Free Video Flip and Rotate. Load the file into the program by clicking on the button to the right of the "Source file" field and select the transformation by clicking on the icon with the arrow pointing in the desired direction.
Step 2
By clicking on the button to the right of the "Output file" field, specify the folder for saving the video. The video saving process will start after clicking on the "Convert" button.
Step 3
Videos can be rotated using Movie Maker. Load the video into the program, drag it to the timeline and open the video effects viewer before cutting it into pieces or applying any other editing to it. This can be done using the Video Effects option from the Video group of the Clip menu.
Step 4
Depending on which direction you want to rotate the image, choose the Rotate 90 Degrees or Rotate 270 Degrees effect. As you might guess, the second effect will rotate the picture ninety degrees counterclockwise. To apply the transformation, drag the icon onto the clip on the timeline. Even if you divide this clip into sections after applying the effect, each section of the video will be rotated at the desired angle.
Step 5
The VirtualDub program allows you to rotate the video not only at a right angle, but also at any desired angle. After loading the video into the editor, apply the Filter option of the Video menu. To open the list of available filters, use the Add button.
Step 6
Select the Rotate2 filter from the list that opens. In the preferences window, enter the rotation angle in the Rotation angle field. To preview the result, click the Show preview button.
Step 7
You can also rotate a picture to any desired angle in After Effects. Place the edited file on the Timeline palette and expand the list of its parameters by clicking on the arrow to the left of the file name. Expand the Transform item in the same way.
Step 8
Click on the numerical value in the Rotation field and enter the value for the rotation angle. The transformation result can be immediately seen in the Composition palette.
Step 9
You can animate the image rotation process in After Effects. To do this, place the pointer of the current frame at the moment the rotation starts and click on the clock-shaped icon in the Rotation field. Move the cursor to the frame in which the rotation process should end and enter a new value for the Rotation parameter. If the picture unfolds too quickly, drag the right keyframe icon to the right.
