Step 1
To do this, boot your computer from the Mandriva Linux installation CD. Find the "System Restore" section. A menu will appear, in which select the item "Repair Windows bootloader". Press the "Enter" button. While in recovery mode, select the Go to console tab. Run the command “fdisk / dev / sda”. Use the “p” command. This will display information about the partitions. Remove all unnecessary partitions using the “d” command. The c command will allow you to create one section. Changes to disk are written using the “w” command.

It can be done in another way. The Linux operating system is usually installed on a partition type 83. Partitions can be removed using the Fdisk program. It comes with Linux. Remove the native, swap and boot partitions used by Linux. Boot the computer from the Linux software floppy disk. Enter fdisk at the command line. Press the Enter key. For information about the partitions, enter “p” at the command line. Press the Enter key. It begins with information about the first partition on the first hard drive, and then on the second partition on the first hard drive. Enter “d” on the command line. Press the Enter key. A window will appear in which specify the number of the partition to be deleted.
Step 3
To delete section 1, type 1. Press the Enter key. Repeat this step to remove the remaining partitions. To write this data to the partition table, type “w”, press “Enter”. Error messages may appear while writing data to the partition table. In this case, they do not really matter, since the next step is to reboot the computer and install a new operating system. To quit Fdisk, type “q” at the command line and press “Enter”. Insert a Windows boot disk or CD and press “Ctrl + Alt + Delete” to restart your computer. Install the Windows operating system.
