Mods are add-ons to computer games, which, as a rule, are written by third-party developers using the SDK or special programs designed to modify games. Currently, there are many mods for the game Fallout 3, allowing you to diversify and make the gameplay more interesting.

Instructions
Step 1
Download the mod for the game Fallout 3. You can find them on various specialized gaming sites that are dedicated to the settings and the passage of this game. As a rule, these files are zipped, so you need to install a Zip or WinRAR archiver on your computer. Some mods also require special programs that can be downloaded from the same site.
Step 2
Unpack the mod folder. Most of the modifications consist of files with the esp and esm extensions. Also, sometimes there may be folders with textures, music, video and others. Before proceeding with the installation of mods, you must copy the old settings separately. This will allow you to revert to the original state in case of failure or incompatibility of the add-on.
Step 3
Copy all folders and files in the archive, except for the Readme text file, into the Data directory. When installing the game by default, this folder is located at "C: / Program Files / Bethesda Softworks / Fallout 3 / Data /". If the mod consists of Russian folders or contains files that are already in the game directory, then first read the instructions in the Readme file, which may indicate optional plug-in settings.
Step 4
Then download the ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated program, which you will need to activate most of the mods. It will allow you to customize the normal operation of the models, sounds and textures of the add-on. It is enough to download the application, launch it and click the “Activate” button.
Step 5
After that, download the Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) program, which is required to activate plugins and run mods. Run it and check the box next to the files you want. Remember that you need to add mods to the game one at a time, and then check its performance each time.
Step 6
Use Fo3Edit or Fallout Mod Sorter to resolve conflicts and stabilize the game with different mods. The applications are fairly simple and straightforward to use.
