Step 1
One of the simplest programs to record an image from a computer screen is the Fraps utility. It has a built-in function for recording an audio signal, which is important for many users. Download this program and install it.
Step 2
Run the utility and start configuring its operation parameters. Open the General tab and uncheck Fraps window always on top. While recording, you will hardly need the Fraps program window running. Go to the FPS tab. Be sure to uncheck the Stop benchmark automatically option. If you do not disable this function, the video recording will automatically stop after the specified period of time.
Step 3
Check the box next to FPS if you want to see the number of frames per second displayed during recording. Go to the Movies tab. Click the Change button and select the folder where the videos will be saved. In this case, it is better to use a hard disk partition on which no operating systems are installed.
Step 4
Find the Video Capture Hotkey field. Click on it with the left mouse button and press the key that will start and stop recording video from the screen. Check the box next to Full-size to maximize the quality of the recorded video. Enter your FPS. Select the desired value from the proposed options or enter it yourself by clicking on the appropriate item. Activate the Record Sound parameter if you need to record a sound signal.
Step 5
Minimize the program window by pressing the required key. Do not close the utility completely. To start recording video, press the key you specified in the Video Capture Hotkey. Press it again to stop the program. Check the quality of the resulting video and evaluate the audio signal level.
