If you print a document created in a text editor, it will become a simple picture. Consequently, scanners only read graphics from documents, while graphics and text are edited differently. But the difference in formats is not a problem. There are several ways to change the text in your scanned document.
Instructions
Step 1
Install a text recognition app. Such programs can be bundled with the scanner or distributed separately. Nevertheless, they have the same principle of operation. Launch an OCR application, place the desired document in the scanner, text side down, scan. Click the "Recognize" button, wait for the program to translate the graphics into text, export the file to text format, save the document. Next, open the saved document in a text editor and make the desired changes.
Step 2
If you do not have the required application, use another method. He's more creative than the first one. Scan your document, adjusting the settings to get a clear image without darkened or overly overexposed areas. The higher the quality of your image, the less you have to clean up the drawing. Save the scanned document.
Step 3
Open the image in any graphics editor. Better to use an editor that supports working with layers. If you make a mistake while editing, it will be easier to correct it on a separate layer than in a whole document. Straighten the background using an eraser or brush. Adjust the brightness and contrast of the image if necessary.
Step 4
Delete or paint over the part of the document where the new text will be placed and create a new layer. Select the "Text" tool (denoted in graphic editors by the letter "T"), enter the text on the newly created layer. If you are working in Adobe Photoshop, you do not need to create an additional layer. Choose the appropriate font style and size. Using the navigation tool, match the old text with the new one, making sure that the lines and margins are even and the line spacing is the same. Merge layers, save or print the document.
