Step 1
If you notice misaligned vertical lines on the paper, adjust the printer's printheads. First, install the latest software version. Visit the printer manufacturer's website: https://software.canon-europe.com/. This is the driver download page. Fill in the provided table and download the proposed software.
Step 2
Restart your computer and open the Start menu. Go to Printers and Faxes. Now find the name of your printer and double-click on it with the left mouse button. In the window that appears, open the Maintenance tab. Find Print Head Alignment and open it.
Step 3
Insert a blank A4 paper into the printer's hopper and press the Start button. Wait for the device to complete the desired operations. Restart the printer by unplugging it from AC power or pressing the desired key. Check the quality of the printing device.
Step 4
The printer settings can be accessed using software designed to control this equipment. After starting the program, open the Utilities tab and select Printhead Alignment.
Step 5
If the program displays an error while trying to execute a running process, turn off the printer and remove the cartridge. Install it back and try again. If you are working with a reusable cartridge, then try replacing it with a new one. Despite the long service life of these components, sooner or later they fail.
