Step 1
If a part of the wheel axis breaks off your mouse, the symptoms of such a malfunction are as follows - you turn the wheel, but this is not displayed on the computer screen in any way. To eliminate such a breakdown, unscrew all the screws on the mouse case. Open the mouse. Remove the wheel and the broken pin. Next, take an iron paper clip. Straighten it out. Then fold it in half and twist the ends all the way down. Measure the length of the broken off part of the axle on the resulting structure, adding a couple of millimeters so that you can melt a paper clip into the wheel. Bite off excess with wire cutters. Pinch the fold of the paper clip with pliers and bring the ends up to the fire. Wait for the paperclip to glow red hot. Now quickly melt a paper clip into the mouse wheel where the axis was. Once your structure has hardened, slide the wheel back into place. Roll the wheel to check if the paper clip scrolls the mechanism inside the mouse. If it does not scroll, insert another small piece of wire about five millimeters long in the place where the mechanism contacts the paper clip. The mechanism should now work. Assemble the body by screwing it in with the screws. The mouse has been repaired.
Step 2
Another common breakdown is that the wheel scrolls the pages on the screen, but not smoothly, as expected, but up and down. In this case, most likely, your mouse has a loose scrolling mechanism. To fix it, unscrew and open the mouse body. You will see a wheel inserted into a special mechanism responsible for scrolling through pages on the screen. Gently use pliers to squeeze the body of this mechanism. But look, don't overdo it. If you squeeze it too much, the wheel may stop spinning altogether, or the scrolling mechanism itself may simply break. After you have tightened the body of the mechanism, turn the wheel. If everything works fine, reassemble the mouse case.
