How to install Windows from a memory card

It is necessary

  • - a computer;
  • - memory card;
  • - file Windows_7 WinToFlash.

Instructions

Step 1

First of all, you need to prepare a memory card from which the operating system will be installed. Its capacity depends on the version of the operating system that you will be installing. For Windows XP, a one gigabyte memory card is enough, for installing Windows 7 - from three gigabytes. The card itself is recommended to be connected using a card reader.

Step 2

The second thing you need is an ISO image of the operating system, preferably a "clean version", without various third-party assemblies. Firstly, the distribution kit of such an image will weigh less, and secondly, such operating systems are more reliable.

Step 3

Since the procedure is different in different versions of operating systems, in order to avoid confusion, we will consider Windows 7. First, you need to download the file Windows_7 WinToFlash.

Step 4

Create a folder on your hard disk (any folder name). Copy all files from the operating system image to this folder. To do this, you need to open the image in any program for working with virtual disks, and then just copy the Windows 7 files.

Step 5

After that, launch the downloaded WinToFlash program. A window will appear in which you will need to accept the license agreement. Next, the main menu of the program will open, in which left-click on the flag in the main menu. Then click "Next".

Step 6

In the next window there is a line "Path to Windows files". Click on the "Select" button, which is located opposite the line, and specify the path to the folder where you copied the operating system files. In the line below, also click "Select" and select the letter of your memory card. Click Next. In the next window, accept the license agreement and move on. After transferring the distribution to the memory card, click "Exit".

Step 7

The very process of installing an operating system from a memory card is similar to installing from a disk. All that is needed is to enable system startup from the memory card. This can be done in the BIOS, and then start the computer with the memory card installed.
