A laptop monitor with an active liquid crystal matrix, we are accustomed to refer to simply as "matrix". Each laptop model has its own specific line, which is not always interchangeable. And therefore, in order to choose this element specifically for your gadget, you need to thoroughly know what model it is and all its exact characteristics.

Step 1
Determine which matrix is on the laptop. To do this, enter your laptop model into any Internet search engine. Find it on some portal or online store, it doesn't matter. The main thing is to find a description of the technical characteristics. Look at the following important parameters: die size (in inches). As a rule, it varies from 8 to 21. You can also find out yourself - just measure the monitor diagonally with a ruler, and divide the resulting number by 2.54. Resolution (number of pixels) is also important. It will look something like this: 800x600; 1280x800; 1440x900. Determine the backlight type for your laptop. Most of the expensive models have LED backlighting, while the inexpensive ones are equipped with a tube backlight. But there are also exceptions.
Step 2
If it was not possible to determine the type of matrix via the Internet, then disassemble the laptop and see the name directly on the element itself. There are many options - it can be one- or two-lamp, with additional mounts and electronics.
Step 3
Select a manufacturer that supplies matrices for your laptop and find its center in your city. Then order it or just take the laptop to an authorized center, where specialists will replace this important element.
