Instructions
Step 1
Make sure the manufacturers did not use glue to secure the back and front panels when assembling your monitor model. This is quite rare, but if you come across just such a model, forget about disassembling it at home. Also, read the terms of the warranty for your device - in most cases, the signs of opening the monitor cover void your warranty obligations from the seller and the manufacturer.
Step 2
Remove the monitor from the stand. Turn it upside down, making sure that the surface is level, otherwise you may damage the screen beyond repair. Remove all visible screws from the back cover of the monitor. Pry it up and try to remove it without using additional tools.
Step 3
If the cover does not come off, place the monitor on a table; if it is unstable, ask someone to hold it to the side. Place a thin flat-blade screwdriver between both parts and hit it lightly with your hand. In this case, the lid should come off.
Step 4
If the above steps did not help, find instructions for disassembling it in the documentation for the monitor or on the Internet. Please note that some LG and Samsung models are very difficult to disassemble. For example, in L1982 it is very problematic to remove the monitor from the stand, after which special equipment may be needed to remove the cover, because the edges of the monitor parts are very tightly connected.
Step 5
Also, do not disassemble monitors whose back and front covers do not have wide gaps and cannot be removed after loosening the bolts. When removing the laptop monitor cover, also note that many Sony and Apple models use glue to connect computer parts, so you should entrust their disassembly to service center specialists.
