To disassemble a computer, the first thing to do is to open the lid of the system unit. It is under it that the main components of the PC are hidden. Most often, this is a fairly simple matter that everyone can handle, but you need to take into account some rules.
Necessary
- - system unit;
- - screwdriver.
Instructions
Step 1
Quit all running programs. Turn off your computer. Wait until the screen turns off. Disconnect your computer from the network. Disconnect all devices from the system unit.
Step 2
Place it on a flat surface. Take a screwdriver. Sometimes the cover of the system unit is removed by opening the latches, but most manufacturers use screws. You may need a Phillips or Hex screwdriver. Make sure you remove all the screws - they can be quite small and blend in color with the cover.
Step 3
Usually, after all the screws have been removed, the cover opens by itself. But sometimes designs are made in which the lid needs to be moved to the side or up. Please note the presence of warranty labels. If damaged, the warranty is void. However, the sticker can be not only a warranty, but also a transport one. Removing it does not mean anything.
Step 4
If the warranty sticker is there, but you still need to remove the cover, contact the service center. There, the lid will be removed, they will carry out the necessary actions with the system unit, put it back and stick a label with a mark about who opened it and when. Usually, the cover of the system unit is removed to upgrade its contents or remove accumulated dust. If this is your first time doing this, consider the risk. The computer may no longer turn on. Be prepared to contact the repair service. Before starting the procedure, find the manual on the Internet or specialized literature.
Step 5
If after removing the screws the cover does not open and you cannot figure out how to remove it, do not do it yourself. There is a risk of damage to the structure. The cover should be removed without much effort. If you cannot easily remove it, it is likely that not all screws have been removed or additional fasteners are available. Perhaps it makes sense to look at the description of your system unit on the Internet.
