It so happens that the cause of a malfunction of a device, be it a video camera, laptop or ordinary music player, lies in the malfunction of a small inconspicuous electrical connector. Without a plug, power from the mains simply will not flow into the device, therefore, in order to repair it, you need to be able to disassemble it correctly.
Instructions
Step 1
Pay attention to the body of the plug. The fact is that not every plug lends itself to disassembly. Cases are collapsible and non-collapsible, so if you have a non-collapsible version, after repair you will not be able to restore the original aesthetic appearance.
Step 2
If your plug has a metal body, carefully remove the plastic, rubber, or ceramic insulation without damaging the contents. This can be done with a scalpel (in the case of plastic or rubber). In the case of ceramic insulation, it will simply have to be broken, so think three times before doing this, whether it is really necessary to disassemble the plug.
Step 3
If the plug body is initially disassembled and is made of rubber or plastic, carefully twist the cover of the plug along the threads, and then remove the metal core. In most cases, it is nothing special and, at first glance, consists of a metal stick with wires screwed to it. But, as you know, all ingenious is simple, and this case is no exception.
Step 4
Disassemble the design of the cable gland. In any plugs, it will consist of a cable shock absorber, which does not allow it to bend too much, thereby protecting it from kinking. Also open the special clip that keeps the cable from being pulled out suddenly. If the connector into which the plug is inserted is designed for operation in a humid or dusty environment, a seal must be provided in the cable gland for sealing. It can also be removed with a screwdriver and, if necessary, replaced with a better one.
Step 5
Replace defective plug components and reassemble in reverse order. Thus, you can fix the plug yourself or assemble one really good electrical connector from several.
