Covering a subwoofer with material is far from an easy task, even for those who have been involved in this business for a long time, since each model, having its own characteristics, requires a special approach.

Instructions
Step 1
Decide exactly what material you will be covering your subwoofer with. At the same time, keep in mind that the appearance will be much better if you glue the case with a layer of thin even foam rubber before covering it, therefore, also think about purchasing a certain amount of this material.
Step 2
Before applying foam rubber to the subwoofer, sand the case to an almost smooth surface, since every unevenness will be visible. By the way, this applies only to those cases when the foam layer is thin, or there is none at all. If you take a large layer, it will hide all the imperfections of grinding work. However, here it is worth thinking, if in the future you want to change the upholstery to another, then you will have to do the work again. Also note that the glue adheres best to flat surfaces.
Step 3
Cover the subwoofer with material so that there are as few joints as possible. It is best to use wooden or metal corner plugs for masking purposes, however, all this is not for everybody. Hide the ends and edges of the upholstery in the lower part of the cabinet, secure their position, close the subwoofer with a separately upholstered cover.
Step 4
Also use an alternate option to solve joint problems. Trim them neatly around the edges to keep them even in length. Sew the edges of the upholstery with a hand-held sewing machine with the thread of your choice.
Step 5
Be prepared for the fact that the first time you get the perfect result, so it is best to seek help from a knowledgeable person with experience in the field. If you are not confident in your abilities, it is best to entrust the covering of the subwoofer to a professional service center, as it is actually a very difficult task, even for those who have already done it many times.
