In the fall of 2012, the launch of the new ThinkPad Tablet 2 from the Chinese company Lenovo is expected. Its official presentation took place on August 9. The exact date of the start of sales of the device has not yet been announced, nor has its price been named, so the only way to purchase the device today is to use the "waiting list".
As a rule, the first to get the opportunity to sell new items are official dealers of companies, they are the first to start accepting preliminary applications. Therefore, it is better to contact the stores of companies that are authorized partners of Lenovo for the sale of its products. After signing up for the waiting list, you will receive a notification by phone, SMS or email about the start of sales or the start of accepting applications in this store.
However, it may not be worth rushing to purchase the first versions of ThinkPad Tablet 2. This tablet is very tightly integrated with the Windows 8 operating system, which has not yet been tested, and its predecessor used the Android OS. Even the processor of this device is designed with the expectation of the features of the new product of Microsoft Corporation. And practice shows that each version of the new generation OS after the start of widespread use needs rather serious improvements. Therefore, it will not be superfluous to wait a few months, during which, most likely, new upgrades of the operating system, the software of the tablet itself will appear and its new generation processor will be tested.
ThinkPad Tablet 2 will weigh 590 grams with a thickness of 9.8 mm. Its touch screen measures 10.1 inches diagonally and is rated at a resolution of 1366x768 pixels. The camera on the front side of the device has a matrix with a resolution of 2 megapixels, and on the back side there is another camera with a resolution of 4 times higher. Optionally, a 3G or 4G module can be installed in the case. The tablet has micro-HDMI and USB 2.0 interfaces, and the docking station has full-size HDMI, as well as an Ethernet port and an additional USB. At the presentation it was reported that the tablet will be able to work continuously for up to 10 hours, however, in what mode such measurements were carried out was not specified.
