Without the rules of the Russian language, one cannot claim to be a literate and educated person. Literacy includes not only correct pronunciation of words and correct spelling, but also correct punctuation - in particular, the ability to correctly wrap words from line to line. There are several rules for coordinating the hyphenation of words across syllables.

Instructions

Step 1

When hyphenating words, do not leave one letter on the previous line, and also do not leave only consonants without vowels. Divide the word into syllables so that a vowel is present in each syllable. Monosyllabic words cannot be transferred.

Step 2

Do not separate the d, s, b, b from the previous letter during hyphenation.

Step 3

When transferring words in which several consonants go after a vowel to another line, keep the consonants on the previous line, attaching them to the vowel syllable.

Step 4

If, when transferring, you see that the consonant of the root is at the junction with the suffix, leave it together with the root on the top line, and transfer the suffix to the bottom. If there are two suffixes in the word, separate these suffixes when transferring.

Step 5

If there is a prefix in a word, do not attribute the consonant of the prefix to the syllable that follows it, which begins with a consonant. Also, do not leave the consonant of the root with the prefix.

Step 6

Do not leave a prefix along with the first vowel of the root on the same line if the root begins with a vowel. Separate the prefix from the root and move it to another line.

Step 7

Divide compound words (for example, special clinic or military service) into their component parts when transferring. Do not transfer letter abbreviations at all.

Step 8

If there are double vowels between the vowels at the junction, transfer one of them, and leave the other on the previous line along with the previous vowel.

Step 9

You cannot wrap punctuation marks, dashes (an exception is a dialogue replica), additions to numbers (25th, 2nd), abbreviations, surnames and initials, as well as conditional abbreviations (etc., etc.)., i.e.).
