From time to time, personal computer users need to translate PDF files into text documents that can be edited in Word. This can be done using special programs.
Instructions
Step 1
Use the operating system's clipboard to transfer the contents of the document to another editor (for example, Microsoft Word or Notepad) if the file is not copy protected. To do this, you can select all the text with the Ctrl + A key combination or using the mouse, and then copy it by pressing Ctrl + C. Switch to the window of the desired editor and paste the copied text using the Ctrl + V keys.
Step 2
Save the document in text format by calling the appropriate dialog with the hotkeys Ctrl + Shift + S. Set the required format in the "File type" field, for example, TXT or DOC. Pay attention to the images in the text, if any. Make sure they are in the correct place when inserted into the document.
Step 3
Install on your computer a special editor that reads, creates, edits and converts PDF files, for example Foxit PhantomPDF. Download and install the application to your hard drive and then launch it. Now you can open the corresponding file and select the operation of converting it to Microsoft Word format from the menu.
Step 4
Perform a one-time conversion of one document if the need for such an operation arises quite rarely. This can be done online and without installing additional software. For example, the PDF2Word service allows you to convert a file for free. With the page open, choose the Convert File action. In the dialog that appears, select the required pdf file on your computer, select it and click the "Open" button. After that, using an automatic script, the document will be uploaded to the server and after a while a field with the word Word file will appear on the page. By clicking on it, you start the Microsoft Word application, and the text taken from the pdf will be automatically copied into it.
