Step 1
To connect to the network, first of all, make sure Wi-Fi is turned on on your laptop. This is usually a small switch labeled as an antenna that turns Wi-Fi on or off. If you can't find the switch, it's best to check your laptop's manual.
Step 2
After you have verified that Wi-Fi is working, right-click on the computer icon in the lower right corner of the screen and select "View Available Wireless Networks". A window will open where you will see a list of available networks.
Step 3
Now double-click on the desired network and when asked by the system about the desire to connect to a wireless network, answer yes. When prompted for a network key, enter it. If you connect to a free open network at a cafe, you will not be prompted for a key. If you are connecting to a home Wi-Fi network, enter the key you received from the owner of the network.
