Gone are the days when the harm of monitors to vision was obvious to everyone. Now the harm that your display can do you is just unnecessary eye strain. But reducing the risk to vision is simple - you just need to choose the optimal brightness of the monitor. It's easy to do with a computer, but what if your task is to make the laptop screen lighter?
It is necessary
Owning a laptop at a primitive level
Instructions
Step 1
Do not try to find the monitor menu buttons on the laptop. Since the display and keyboard are connected into a single unit, they simply have nowhere to fit. To open the laptop brightness adjustment window, press the Fn key (usually located in the lower left corner) and while holding it, the F (F5) key with the image of the sun.
Step 2
The setting you want is brightness. Make it a little higher if you want to make the laptop screen lighter. But do not overdo it: excessive brightness of the monitor will not affect your vision in the best way. Another setting is contrast. If you feel that the contrast on your display is not the best for you, change it. But also remember that too clear images and text are difficult for the eyes to perceive.
Step 3
You can achieve the same effect if you go to the "Start" - "Control Panel" menu. Among the sections that appear, select "System and Security", then - "Power Supply". On laptops that support changing the display brightness, you can change the screen brightness.
Step 4
You can also adjust the brightness of the laptop screen through the settings of the video card driver. Most of the latter have the ability to select different image parameters. To enter these settings, go to "Control Panel" - "Display" (or right-click on the desktop - "Properties"), find the "Options" tab, there - the "Advanced" button. Among the proposed tabs, find the one that corresponds to the settings of the video card. It usually coincides with the name of the latter. There, look for color correction settings and choose the brightness settings that suit you.
Step 5
The colors on the laptop have always suited you, but suddenly the screen faded? Do not rush to contact the technical center, perhaps you just … disconnected the device from charging. Most laptops shine much brighter when plugged into an outlet. If there is no possibility to "charge", but the dim light does not suit you, adjust the charger settings or change the power supply mode.
Step 6
If none of the above options help, the problem is probably with the video card or the monitor itself. Then you will have to seek help from specialists.
