Sometimes it is required to boot the system in safe mode. Home PCs use just a few keys to enter it. The situation with laptops is quite different. There are a lot of models of portable devices, and on each of them a separate key can be used to enter safe mode. So you often have to guess the correct one using the brute-force method. But there are several ways to simplify this task.
It is necessary
- - notebook;
- - boot disk with operating system.
Instructions
Step 1
The easiest way, of course, is to enter Safe Mode by pressing a key before the operating system starts loading. Quite often in laptops, F8, F2, F5, F12 are used for this. If with their help you were unable to boot the system in safe mode, you can proceed to the next methods.
Step 2
To implement the second method, you must have a boot disk with an operating system or a recovery disk. Insert the media into the laptop's optical drive. Restart your mobile computer. Immediately on the initial screen, press the Del key. The BIOS menu should open.
Step 3
For many notebook models from Toshiba, the Esc key is used to enter the BIOS. F10 and F12 are also sometimes used. In more detail, which key must be used to enter the BIOS on your laptop model, you can see the instructions or on the website of the manufacturer of the portable device.
Step 4
Now find the 1st Boots Device section in the BIOS. Select it and press Enter. A list of the main devices of the mobile computer appears. Select your optical drive from this list. Exit the BIOS, making sure to save the settings. The laptop will restart. This will automatically launch the bootable disc in the optical drive. Wait until Press any key appears on the screen.
Step 5
Wait for the dialog box to appear. It has several options for continuing to work. Select "Load the operating system in safe mode". Please note that in safe mode, the operating system boots much slower than usual. After the OS is fully loaded on the desktop, you will see the inscription "Safe Mode". Upon completion of all operations, go to BIOS and set your hard disk in the 1st Boots Device parameter.
