The Windows operating system provides several boot options. If the computer cannot boot normally, the user can choose Safe Mode. In this case, there are three types of safe mode.
Instructions
Step 1
In safe mode, only basic files and drivers (monitor, keyboard, mouse), standard system services, and disks are loaded. All network connections are missing. Safe Mode Loading Network Drivers loads the main drivers and files, as well as network connections. The third type of boot is Safe Mode with command line support. In this mode, the main files and drivers are loaded, but after logging into Windows, the command line is displayed instead of the graphical interface.
Step 2
It is recommended that you start your computer in safe mode if you experience problems. These problems are most often caused by incorrect installation of new hardware or installation of unsuitable drivers. If Windows system files are damaged, Safe Mode is unlikely to help.
Step 3
There are several steps you need to take to boot your computer into Safe Mode. Click the Start button or the Windows key and select Shut Down from the menu. In the new window, select the "Restart" command and click on the OK button. Wait for Windows to shut down. Before reloading the operating system, press the F8 key. Alternatively: press this key when the message "Select an operating system to start" appears.
Step 4
Using the arrows on the keyboard, select the option that suits you to boot the operating system in safe mode. When using the arrow keys, NumLock must be disabled. After the desired mode is selected, press the Enter key and wait for the system to boot.
Step 5
If you have multiple operating systems installed on your computer, first select the one you want to start in safe mode by confirming the selection with the Enter key, then select safe mode in the same way as described above. Confirm the command with the Enter key.
