Right-click on the icon of the running program and select the "exit" command from the context menu that appears. In this way, close all active running programs. Do not be afraid to turn off an application that is required for Windows to function properly. Among the running programs that run with the laptop, you can turn off only those that expand the capabilities of the Windows operating system.

Forcibly hold the off button. Wait about a minute and turn on the laptop. A menu will appear that will allow you to select a method for logging in. In this menu and select "safe mode". Note that starting Windows in Safe Mode is very slow. Depending on the laptop model and operating system version, this process can take from one to five minutes. It may appear that the laptop is frozen and nothing is happening. Do not restart or turn off your laptop during this process. If, nevertheless, the system cannot start in safe mode, this sometimes happens when Windows breaks down, then the laptop will either simply reboot automatically or turn off itself. After starting work in safe mode, you will see a black laptop screen without a splash screen, and on top of the screen the inscription "safe mode".

The second way to enter safe mode. Turn on your computer and press the F8 key continuously. Windows boot options will appear. Among them, choose "safe mode". In some laptop models, the F12 key may act as an alternative to F8.
