Step 1
The main characteristics of the disks:
- The SATA cable has the same connectors. One connector leads to the motherboard, the other leads directly to the hard drive. Incorrect connection of SATA drives - impossible operation;
- SATA drives do not have jumpers available - the connection is very simple;
- SATA disks for laptops do not differ and are installed using an additional device.
Step 2
In order to connect a SATA drive you need to:
- purchase a USB container for external drives;
- put the disk in this container and connect it with internal wires;
- connect the connecting cable leading to the USB port in the laptop.
Step 3
In order for your operating system to be able to see the new disk, you must set the operating mode of this disk. Connect all wires. The warning light on the adapter should light up.

Turn on the laptop, when the computer boots up, press the Delete button.

The BIOS Setup will appear on the screen - go to the tab for selecting the parameters of the installed devices - view all available devices - among them there should be a SATA HDD.

When installing any operating system, additional drivers are required for your disk. However, some versions of operating systems are already equipped with such drivers.

When installing a hard disk with an already installed operating system, the drivers are loaded into the system after the computer is turned on and the welcome screen appears.

After loading the operating system, some containers are automatically detected by the system. A message will appear on the screen asking you to reboot. Click Yes. The next time you reboot, the disk will be installed. Go to "My Computer" and make sure it is displayed.
