Instructions
Step 1
There are many special programs for updating the BIOS, but before starting the update, find out the type of your BIOS, its manufacturer and version. If in an ordinary stationary computer it is easy to remove the cover of the system unit and find the BIOS in the motherboard by reading all the data on its sticker, then problems may arise in a laptop with access to the motherboard. It is not recommended to disassemble a laptop if you are not a specialist, so open the instructions that came with the laptop and find the BIOS data in it - they must be there.
Step 2
Chances are good that the manufacturer of your BIOS is Award or Ami. After finding out the name of the manufacturer, visit its website, or find out the website of the manufacturer of your computer and find the BIOS update files (Update) there. Download the files, making sure that this is a really new version, and find out if you need to update the BIOS in your laptop model via DOS, or you can update it via a regular operating system.
Step 3
To update via DOS, download a special bootloader from the BIOS manufacturer - amiflash.exe or awdflash.exe, copy it to a flash drive or CD and boot from it into the system. In BIOS, disable the sections flash bios protection, video bios cacheable, system bios cacheable, and then install updates and only after that restart the computer.
Step 4
Do not restart your computer during installation or prior to installation, as this may have negative consequences for your system.
