The built-in microphone in the laptop greatly simplifies communication. However, along with the provided conveniences, there are a lot of problems with configuring this component. The most complex microphone settings are known for Acer notebooks.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to the "Sound" tab on your Acer laptop. To do this, in the control panel in the right corner, click the icon responsible for setting the sound (more often it is a drawn speaker). A dialog box with several tabs will open on the screen. If this icon is not in the control panel, click on the "Start" button. Select "Settings" and then "Control Panel". In the window that opens, find "Sound and Hardware" among other settings. This module may have a different name, depending on the operating system of your laptop.
Step 2
Go to the "Recording" tab - it is she who is responsible for the built-in microphone. If there is one, you will see the corresponding icon. Click on it or on the "Properties" button.
Step 3
In the opened microphone settings window, check that all parameters are enabled correctly. In the General tab, check that the Device Application line contains the Enabled option. Go to the "Levels" section and move the sliders in the "Microphone" and "Microphone Gain" blocks to the maximum. Click the Apply button and test the microphone.
Step 4
You can test the microphone using the standard Windows "Sound Recorder" utility in the "Start" menu. Press record, give a speech, save and try to reproduce. If unsuccessful, try setting the "Exclusive mode", which is responsible for the volume of sound transmission. To do this, go to the sound settings window and in the "Advanced" tab, check the boxes provided. Test the microphone again.
Step 5
If there is still no result, try updating the controller drivers. This can be done in the same sound settings in the "General" tab by clicking the "Properties" button opposite the "Controller" icon.
